100 Kansas City Churches. Growing together to create lasting Kingdom impact.

What if the Church could experience the freedom that comes from learning God’s principles in managing time and money? What if the Kingdom dreams of the Church were realized because church members had enough time and money margins to fulfill them?
This Fall College Church is participating with other churches to learn how we can take back the margins of our time and money.

What is Margin KC?

We are collaborating with better than 80 other churches in the Kansas City Metropolitan area to create more spaces with our time and treasure. We want to have more margins in our lives to have more flexibility and freedom. We will be engaging in Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. While we have held individual classes before, we have never offered this church-wide. Pastor Dave will be preaching each week on this topic and the congregation will be engaging it during the week.

When does it begin?

We will launch church-wide on Sunday, September 15, 2019 . Although, we are currently involved in various Leaders Training.

How much does it cost to participate?

College Church has negotiated a rate of $95/registration. Pastor Dave has asked College Church to underwrite each registration by $20 if purchased before August 15. The cost for advanced participants is $75 until August 15.

What if I have already participate in Financial Peace?

That is terrific! Your cost is only $20, which gives you everything listed below for 30 days. If you decide to lead a group, it will give you access for one year.

What does my membership include?

Access to www.financialpeace.com. This is where the nine videos are located taught by Dave Ramsey, Rachel Cruze, and Chris Hogan.
– Workbook. (one per budget)
– Access to www.everydollar.com where each participant confidentially forms a
– Individualized Margin KC Groups.
– Financial Coaches.

Does membership include my spouse?

Absolutely. Only one membership needed per (household) budget.

Does each participant have to share their financial position with the group, or anyone for that matter?

NO. This is a common misconception. Your financial information (revenue, debt, investments, etc.) is confidentially held by you. You may choose to share your personal challenges/successes with those in your group, but that is your decision. There is a card that each budget is to hand in. It is anonymous. The card indicates the total debt each household is carrying. Cards will be turned in from all over the church body. The cumulative total of all budgets will be posted to show, as a congregation, where we are currently in our debt load. Then, as the debt load begins to be “paid down,” we will celebrate as a church – together.

Group confidentiality.

Each Leader and Participant is asked to keep all information within the meeting confidential. Each group will practice its own dynamic of trust as they practice hospitality, confidentiality, and overall connection. Each individual will share or withhold as they feel led by the Spirit.

How do I find a group?

Groups are still being formed. You can select a group that best fits your schedule.

How long does each meeting last?

Each chapter in the workbook is referred to as a “Baby Step.” Each one of these “Baby Steps” (chapters) has a video that correlates with it. If a group elects to watch the video while filling in the workbook together it takes approximately 45 minutes. Following, there is the overarching group meeting that lasts approximately another 45 minutes. This means each meeting would take approximately 90+ minutes weekly. This is why we are encouraging each group to participate in “FPU Flex-Training” to maximize their time.

What is FPU flex training?

Financial Peace University Flex Training operates with the understanding that each participant will have watched the particular Baby Step, filled in the workbook, and will have completed the correlating homework before the group meeting. This would allow each group meeting time be reduced to only 45 – 60 minutes long.

Is childcare available?

If your group is meeting on a Sunday morning, Sunday evening, or a Wednesday evening at College Church childcare will be provided. When we launch in the Fall, there will be other groups meeting during the week. Not every group will offer childcare, so be mindful of this when selecting a group.

How many people do we expect to have in each Margin KC group?

The recommended maximum is seven (household) budgets plus the Leader(s). This equates to approximately fourteen people plus the Leader(s).

How many weeks do you expect Margin KC groups meet to cover the materials?

There will be nine consecutive weeks – maximum.

How many Margin KC groups would a leader be expected to lead?

Each Margin KC Leader is only expected to lead one group.

Is it feasible to lead a Margin KC group as a couple?

If applicable, this is preferred! This is because we want everyone to go through with their spouse. Although, they will only need one book.

Can a couple obtain an additional book?

Yes. If a couple has purchased the material, an additional book is only $10. However, it is not necessary to have more than one book. Most will use only one.
