UPWARD FLAG FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING
Upward Flag football and cheerleading at College Church is designed as an outreach program where children are able to play/cheer in a strong Christian environment. All the players will receive equal playing time over the course of the season. They will receive coaching in the fundamentals with a focus on have the correct attitude, learning the game and having fun.
Every player will receive a jersey, shorts, t-shirt, flag belt, window wrist band as well as devotional material, car magnet and an end of the year award.
The cost for everything is $80 and they will play/cheer in 7 games. Below are some important dates and extra information that will hopefully assist you in your decision to play in our UPWARD PROGRAM!!
Evaluation Days:
Tuesday July 29th from 6pm-8pm
Thursday July 31st from 6pm-8pm
Every player will need to attend one of the evaluation nights. You can drop in any time during the posted times and you only need to attend one of the days. During the evaluation process, the kids will perform different drills that will help us draft the teams for the league. This is not a try out; everyone who registers will play!! The evaluation nights are also a time to try on sizing jerseys to insure that your uniform fits upon arrival as well as finalize registration with your payment. Flag Football evaluations will be on the MNU Practice football field and the Cheerleaders will go to the Cunningham Family Life Center Gym.
Practice Days:
1st practice is August 19th or August 21st
Each player will practice only one time per week and the practices last one hour. The start time for practices will be 5:30pm or 6:30pm. The coaches will let you know what day and time your practice will be. Practices will take place just to the north of College Church on the field in front of the MNU dorms.
Game Days:
1st game is September 5th
All games will be played on FRIDAY NIGHTS on the MNU practice football field just to the east of the church building. All games will last about an hour.
Awards Night:
Sunday October 19th at 6pm
Awards night is our final get together where we will have special speaker, give-a-ways, a highlight video and each participant will receive their end of the season gift.
